Description
- On behalf of Horizons Regional Council we offer this 138 hectare ex-dairy farm for lease for a two year period commencing 1 June 2023
- The main access is from Hokio Beach Rd, with a side boundary the full length of Arawhata Rd. Around 32ha is accessed from the end of Mako Mako Rd.
- Soil types vary from low lying peaty ground through to alluvial silt loam. New soil tests will be available shortly
- Centrally raced to around 35 paddocks mainly with 1-2 wire electric fences
- This is a sensitive catchment and accordingly the Lessee will need to demonstrate they can run the property within an environmental footprint of 15kg/ha N loss per annum. No cattle older than two years can be wintered. No vegetable crops
- During the term of the lease Horizons reserves the right to withdraw part of the land as they begin to establish a wetland
- Facilities include a cowshed (being decommissioned May 2023), plus an assortment of other farm buildings
- A 3 bedroom home at Mako Mako Rd is available – the prospective Lessee may opt in/opt out of that at time of tendering
